The Immedia SlingOn Hoist Aid is primarily designed for easy application of a hoist sling in bed without the need for logrolling or moving the user, making it ideal for those with limited mobility who require frequent hoisting. This useful aid is particularly beneficial for bariatric patients or those who cannot be placed on their side. The SlingOn consists of two separate ultra-low friction nylon slide sheets held together by snap buttons in the corners, and it features handles along the sides for enhanced grip, ensuring a secure and efficient transfer process. For carers seeking more patient-friendly methods of transfer, the Immedia SlingOn offers a convenient solution. Its design prioritises both the ease of use for carers and the comfort of patients with low mobility. The attachment process is straightforward, reducing the physical strain on carers and minimising discomfort for patients during transfers. This dual benefit makes the SlingOn a valuable tool in various care settings.
The Immedia SlingOn is easy to use. First, fasten the press studs in all four corners and fold the SlingOn from the short side in 20-30 cm steps. Position the SlingOn under the user from the head or foot end, ensuring the open end faces away from the user and the folded part is under the head, pillow, and shoulders. Roll out the SlingOn underneath the user in stages, ideally with the assistance of more than two carers. Unfold one wing at a time to complete the positioning. Once the SlingOn is in place, apply the hoist sling between the two layers of the SlingOn by pulling from the head end towards the seat in small steps. After the hoist sling is correctly positioned, remove the top part of the SlingOn. Remember, the user is always lifted in the sling, not in the SlingOn. Always remove the top part of the SlingOn before hoisting to ensure safety and comfort during the transfer.
